Folks, this article is being written by an idiot. I should have known better. But, no I was going to take the internet by storm.

So, I was here and I was there, I was all over the place. Every time I heard that something was hot, I’d slap up a website or blog on that subject and by the time it was done I’d heard of something else and off I would go again.

I had so many sites and blogs that were a whole conglomeration of crap, that I was running the premier internet junk yard. Some of those sites and blogs were so bad that internet surfers almost broke their computer in their haste to get away from them. I’ll tell you, if more was better I’d have been a millionaire.

But, that’s just the point, more is not always better when it comes to internet marketing. An internet marketing friend woke me up to what I was doing one day as we were chatting. He said, “You can’t be everything to everybody. You need to find a niche. Something that grabs you. Something that you enjoy doing or talking about. You don’t have to be an authority on the subject. You can research it and become a trusted voice on the subject. But, you’ve got to stop jumping around like the Easter bunny or you are going to break all your eggs.”

That got me to thinking. He was 100% right. I had to focus, zero in on something and stick to it.

And that’s what you need to do. I don’t care if you are an experienced internet marketer or just starting out.

You need to find a niche. Something that hits your hot button. Something that you can read or talk about and enjoy.

It might be sports, pets, making money, losing weight. There are hundreds of subjects and a lot of people are making some real good money with them; because they have niched, they have focused on something and are giving real solid and valuable information on a certain subject.

Look, when you want to find some information you go on the internet, probably google it. You want to find some good honed down information on that subject. Not a broad hodge podge about it, that says a lot and tells you nothing.

That’s where “nicheing the niche” in niche marketing comes in.

Once you have found your subject that you want to niche, you are only beginning to find your niche.

Let’s say you like pets. But, pets is too broad a term for a niche. So, the pet you like best is dogs. You’ve narrowed your niche a little. So now we take it a step further. Your favorite dog is a Golden Retriever. So you call your niche “How to Train a Golden Retriever.”

So now you have narrowed your niche enough – right? Wrong! You’ll get a lot of hits from people that want to train their Golden Retriever in a lot of ways, and some will buy your information. But, most will just be curious, take a look and go flying away.

What you want is targeted traffic, and I mean “real targeted traffic” that comes to your website for a specific purpose with credit card in hand and gasping from excitement. To get this type of traffic you really narrow your niche to “Train Your Golden Retriever To Hunt!”

Now, to some that might seem a bit radical – too narrow. But, it’s not. If you want a lot of traffic, a lot of tire kickers, OK. But, if you want those people with their credit cards ready and gasping with excitement, you must really “niche the niche” in niche marketing!
