Have you ever felt that you have been a victim of scammers? If you haven`t, you must have been living on a island somewhere with no telephone, no computer, no mail or any contact with the world. So how can we keep from being a victim of Scamming?

Every day you hear of scams. Some big, some small. In a lot of cases people yell scam to cover up their own failures. For instance, a person sees the words easy money and they jump at the opportunity without reading the whole deal. They see what they want to see and not what is written. They are disappointed when the easy money does not start rolling in and they yell “I`ve Been Scammed”.

Remember, it takes two people to create a scam. You and the scammer! You have to be ready to jump at the chance of fast money without carefully checking everything out or the scammer doesn`t have a chance.

I hate to use an old tired Phrase, but it’s the best policy – ‘If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.’ You run in to a lot hype and wild claims. miles of testimonials, screen shots of earnings and umpteen bonuses. My question is – If the product is so good, why all the bonuses? If the product is going to deliver the benefits and solve the problem then it should be enough for your buck.

The point is, you should look past the hype. Think, are they promising too much. If you are looking for information about a certain subject, thats what you need. You are looking for good useful information not a big package of books that you will never read.

But, you shouldn`t be discouraged or give up your dreams. Just be a little more careful. There are no free lunches. If you haven`t given up your dream of doing your own thing, you can find success online. You can make money from home.

There are so many ways to make money online. I know of people that are truly earning fortunes right now as I am writing this. And they are not any smarter or better educated than you are. But they have achieved great success online. You can do it too! All you need is more knowledge and experience.

You get the knowlege from reading and seeing what the successful ones are doing. You can get the experience by copying the tactics and procedures of these successful people. Remember trial and error are the best teachers. You can’t win if you don’t play. You will find the ways to make money and enjoy true success online!

The Ideal lifestyle of almost everyone is to have all the money that you will ever need. Own a big house, a fancy car and travel the world first class.

Their children would go to the best of schools and become geniuses in their chosen professions.

All this would be accomplished by throwing up a website. Once the website is up and running, they would be free of all worldly cares.

This is what a lot of the fast talking get rich programs online would have you to believe.

Well, here’s the latest bulletin. It ain’t that easy pardner. If all this were true – if only it was this easy – Their would be no poverty, no greed and no village idiots. Oh, how wonderful that would be.

You get back what you put into something. You reap what you sow. This means that to realize a dream, you must pay a price.

Now when I speak of paying a price for your dream, I don’t mean a price in the terms of money. The price you pay for your dreams is determined in sweat, tears and time.

All of us get complacent. Sales are going along at a nice pace, so we forget some of the things that got us to easy street.

Some times it takes a bump or two on that street to get us back on keel. I know that’s what happened to me a while back. Sales started to slide and I couldn’t see why.

Then I sat down and went through the memory book. I tried to figure out what I was doing wrong. I thought of this possibility and that possibility.

Then it came to me. It wasn’t what I was doing wrong — It was what I wasn’t doing at all!

I thought back to when I was starting out, what did I do? It all started coming back to me. I wasn’t promoting. I was just drifting.

The main thing I realized I had let fall by the way side was the sizzle. How did I used to make it sizzle? Several ways – let’s look at a few:

1. Use the 2 for 1 deal. If a customer bought one item they could pick another item at the same or lower price at no charge.

2. Give a 15% discount on orders of $100 or more.

3. Group products so they could pick any one of them for x amount.

4. Run holiday specials. Everything on the web site 50% off on certain holidays.

5. If it was a high ticket offer, I’d let the customers use a payment plan – pay for it in three easy payments.

6. Offer a bonus coupon when they bought a product. The coupon would be toward the purchase of another product I sold.

7. Give the customer a no-cost trial of the product. Tell them you won’t bill them for 30 days. Use this only with soft ware that you can disable.

I realized I had stopped using my imagination. That’s what you have to do. Not just when you hit the bump on your easy street, but constantly. You must always be on guard. You have to be thinking — what would turn you on to buy?

There are a lot of things you can offer, but there’s one thing we can never forget – the customer is the boss. They control our income. So they must always be our first consideration. We can never just sit back and assume they will come and keep coming. We have to bring them and give them a reason to buy.

Make the offer that’s too good to refuse. If you don’t give them a good reason to buy, the bumps on easy street could throw your program into a ditch that will be too deep to get out.

Always remember the first rule of sales and that is: You gotta give before you get.

Internet marketing is thought by many to be a new form of marketing, but in reality it is as old as the hills.

For many years the mail order business was the way to reach the masses. Some of the giants of retailing started out as mail order companies. Perhaps the largest is Sears, who at that time was known as Sears and Roebuck.

If you read the history of Sears, it almost reads like a pulp fiction novel and at times a comedy of errors. The company sold almost everything imaginable. Sometimes their products were of questionable value and their marketing practices enough to raise eyebrows.

But, this is not a history or review of Sears or any other company. The point that I’m making here is that the principles of Internet Marketing is nothing new. It is just a new and improved method of reaching the public with whatever you might be marketing.

It has more bells and whistles, but the principles are the same. In either case, mail order or online marketing, you must make good use of eye catching ad copy. You must bring traffic to your business site and you must entice them to buy.

Making money online or offline is basically the same. Just as in the offline business, when you shop online, the buyer must beware. In both worlds one must beware of the two headed snake. The ones that are just out to get a fast buck and leave you with an empty sack.

Fortunately, most business people are on the up and up and can be trusted, but don’t be naive – check things out make sure you are getting your moneys worth.

But, back to the original topic. Online marketing is changing the pattern of everyday shopping. The mailorder business is in its last days. Print media – newspapers, magazines and books are seeing a great decline in popularity. Online banking is the coming thing. Does this sound familiar to you? It does to me. Unfortunately, there seems to be an attitude of – “Just give me the stuff to make money with. I don’t need to know all that stuff about building an opt-in list. Creating my own product etc. Forget all that stuff, just let me start making money.”

OK, so I give you a web site, a product and a killer sales letter — and you fail.

Now, you say it wasn’t your fault. The web site, product and sales letter wasn’t any good. If they would have been any good, you wouldn’t have failed. Right?

It doesn’t matter that you didn’t know anything about the product I gave you. You didn’t care, you just wanted to sell it and pocket the money.

It doesn’t matter that you didn’t know what market should be targeted.

It doesn’t matter that you didn’t have an opt-in list.

It didn’t matter that you didn’t try to learn about marketing a product.

No, none of this mattered.

The Internet is at fault. You can’t make money on the Internet.

Don’t pay any attention to the fact that several Internet marketers became wealthy because of Internet marketing before they were 30.

No, none of that matters.

You didn’t make money and you quit because the Internet just isn’t any good for making money.

I agree, it’s not any good for making money. UNLESS you pay your dues. You learn – you study – you absorb – you listen to people who are successful and you copy them.

You buy books – you read books, you watch videos and you apply the knowledge you get from them. INFORMATION – there is no substitute for it.

I have built three successful off-line and one on-line business from scratch. I was not an expert in any of these types of businesses when I started them.

But, I became an expert in each of them, by reading and studying everything I could about them. This is the secret to success. Knowledge! You must have it. If you don’t learn – you don’t earn. Guaranteed!

It’s been said that if you read one hour every day on a particular subject for a year – you become an expert on that subject.

So if you wish to be a success on the Internet or anywhere else, get all the information you can. Read and absorb. If you don’t, you have only yourself to blame for failure.
